Sole Artistry

Sole Artistry is our competition and pre-pro performance team for students, ages 4 and older who are dedicated to their art, love performing and want to step up to the next level! These students spend more time in the classroom learning and enriching their passion for dance and tumbling! Sole Artistry members perform throughout the year and attend workshops where they learn from choreographers and performers seen in movies, television, and on Broadway stages! We participate in several regional competitions during the Winter – Spring season and at the end of our spring competition season, we attend Nationals where we get to compete against many other great dancers across the country! Competitions are a great opportunity for our team to perform, show our love for our art, our talents, and our studio spirit and get inspired by other performers! During the Summer, we participate in local community events, and competitions at fairs in hopes to qualify to compete at the Iowa State Fair in which the winners receive high cash prizes and perform live on television! Being a Sole Artistry performer helps our students improve not only their technique and quality of movement, but also earn life skills, gain confidence, and be a part of their artistic community. The Sole Artistry company travels together, builds bonds, and is a team that supports all of its members of all ages. It is a wonderful learning experience for any student who is ready to ignite their passion for dance!

Meet The Team

Melina is 17 years old and has been dancing with Artistic Intensity for 15 years. This is her 14th year as a member of Sole Artistry. This year in addition to her company pieces, Melina is performing 2 solos: a musical theatre dance to "The Last Midnight", and a Contemporary dance to "Someone To Watch Over Me". Melina has qualified to compete at the Iowa State Fair 10 times. She has won several high awards including a scholarship from the Quad City Dance Network, Outstanding Artist at Immerse Artists Experience, Precision Performer at PAC, JUMP's Outstanding Tap Performer, and an invitation to perform at KIDS ROC in Branson, MO.

Brooklyn is 18 years old and has been dancing with Artistic Intensity for 14 years. This is also her 14th season as a member of Sole Artistry. This year in addition to her company pieces, Brooklyn is performing 2 solos: a Tap dance to "Smooth Criminal" and a Contemporary dance to "New York State of Mind". Brooklyn has qualified to compete at the Iowa State Fair 10 times and has made it to the semi-finals 5 times! She has also earned a spot in the TOP STARZ performance team at Talent on Parade Nationals, a Dance Directive GoPro scholarship to perform at KIDS ROC profession performances in Branson, MO, where she earned a scholarship to the prestigious TAPS school. She has also earned a scholarship at the Quad City Dance Network, Precision Performer at PAC, and IAX ELITE Scholarship to assist with the Immerse Artists Experience.

Bailey is 18 years old and has been dancing with Artistic Intensity for 4 years. This is her 3rd year with Sole Artistry. This year in addition to her company pieces, Bailey is performing a Jazz dance to "Another One Bites The Dust". Bailey has received multiple judge's awards for her performance quality, earned Bravo's Showmanship scholarship to Insaside Summer Intensive, as well as a scholarship from TOP Dance Directive to attend GoPro and perform with KIDS ROC in Branson, Mo. Her GoPro scholarship also earned her the opportunity to assist at TOP Dance Directive workshops. Most recently, Bailey won the "Be The Light" award at Quad City Dance Network for her positive energy and kindness toward her fellow dancers.

Lacey is 15 years old and has been dancing with Artistic Intensity for 5 years. This is her 2nd year on Sole Artistry and in addition to her company pieces, Lacey is performing 2 solos: a Jazz dance to "I Love It" and musical theatre dance to "Good Morning Baltimore". This year Lacey won her first Grand Champion award as a soloist, earned Bravo's Showmanship scholarship to Inaside Summer Intensive, and was part of a National Grand Champion Duet.

Olivia is 7 years old and has been dancing at Artistic Intensity for 3 years. This is her 2nd year with Sole Artistry! She is performing a Musical Theatre solo to "I Like To Fuss". She has place in the Top 10 at several regional competitions and Talent on Parade Nationals and earned a spot in their TOP STARZ performance team, and the "Be The Light" award from the Quad City Dance Network.

Scarlett is 13 years old and has been dancing with Artistic Intensity for 4 years. This is her 2nd year on Sole Artistry. In addition to her company pieces, she is performing a Hip Hop dance to "Beetlejuice". Scarlett received her First Grand Champion at Applause Dance Competition, earned a spot in the TOP STARZ performance team at nationals and was part of a National Grand Champion Duet.

New Members

Olivia is 17 years old and this is her 1st year with Artistic Intensity and Sole Artistry.

Rachel is 17 years old and this her 1st year training with Artistic Intensity and the Sole Artistry team.

Aliza is 8 years old and has been training with Artistic Intensity for 3 years. This is her 1st year on the Sole Artistry team! She has already won 3rd place at the Mediapolis Bill Riley Talent Search and a scholarship from Quad City Dance Network.
