How are levels determined?
At Artistic Intensity, our students advance in level/program by readiness, rather than age. Students advance by teacher invitation only. We find this extremely important to help all of our students at an individual level and ensure they receive the proper training to advance safely. It is of the utmost importance to us that every student gets the education they need to be successful and confident in their journey as a dancer and tumbler. Most students will stay in a level/program for at least 2 years as there is so much to learn in each level to be prepared for the next and they will continue learning and growing in that level until they are physically ready to advance.
As mentioned above we have different programs/levels for each age group. Once a student enrolls in classes, just as in traditional schooling, our teachers will watch their performance in class and at events to decide where to place them in the coming year. Technique, artistry, rhythm, strength and memorization as well as class participation, attendance, and physical readiness are all factors that are taken into consideration. If a student is ready to move up programs/levels, our staff will notify the parents at the beginning of the next season. For our younger classes, a student may advance to the next program before the student ages out of their current program at teacher invitation only.
When a student registers with us for the first time, many factors go into their placement. Prior experience, age, maturity, focus, technique, artistry and physical readiness are all combined when considering proper placement. For this reason, all families must contact us upon registering, so we can work together to find the best place for their student!

Class Dress Code
Being prepared for class also includes what we wear and at Artistic Intensity, we have a specific dress code to help our students excel in the classroom.
