Which classes are right for me?

*All classes are open to male and female students.
*Beginner classes - we have different programs designed for each age group to prepare them to eventually graduate to our leveled classes:
  • First Steps class for age 18 months - 4 years.
  • Little Stars classes for age 3-5.
  • Debut classes for age 6-9.
  • Intro to Dance for age 10-17.
*Intermediate-advanced classes:
  • We have 6 levels of advancement for our Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Acro Tumbling, and 3 Levels for Hip Hop and Contemporary/Modern classes (Beginner = Level 1&2, Intermediate = Level 3&4, Advanced = Level 5&6.)

How are levels determined?

At Artistic Intensity, our students advance in level/program by readiness, rather than age to ensure every student is getting the most out of their training. It is of the utmost importance to us that every student gets the education they need to be successful and confident in their journey with us. Most students will stay in a level/program for at least 2 years as there is so much to learn, and they will continue growing in that level until they are mentally and physically ready to advance safely.
As mentioned above we have different programs/levels for each age group. Once a student enrolls in classes, just as in traditional schooling, our teachers will watch their performance in class and at events to decide where to place them in the coming year. Technique, artistry, rhythm, strength and memorization as well as class participation, attendance, and physical readiness are all factors that are taken into consideration. If a student is ready to move up programs/levels, our staff will notify the parents at the beginning of the next season.
When a student registers with us for the first time, many factors go into their placement. Prior experience, age, maturity, focus, technique, artistry and physical readiness are all combined when considering proper placement. For this reason, all families must contact us upon registering, so we can work together to find the best place for their student.

Class Dress Code

Our dress code is designed to help our students excel in the classroom! Our class wear allows our teachers to safely assist in skills and helps our students focus on correct body placement as well as feel more confident and prepared for class!
  • Students must be dressed properly to participate in class. Dancewear requirements for each class are listed below. Items with prices listed next to them are required to be purchased through Artistic Intensity.
  • Class wear must fit tightly to the body.
  • Hair must be pulled back cleanly in a ponytail with multiple hair ties, bobby pins, and hairspray/gel. Hair must be in a proper bun for Ballet.
