Dress Code Guidelines
Being prepared for class also includes what we wear. In any event, we know that looking the part makes us feel more confident and prepared for the day! We have different class wear for each genre so that we can honor each style of dance in the best way and help students better execute each style. Safety is also important and our class wear will help the student focus on correct body placement.
- Class wear must fit tightly to the body and made of spandex fabrics only (no denim, netting, lace, fringe, etc.).
- Undergarments, if worn, must not be able to be seen.
- Short thin socks should be worn with all shoes, except Ballet shoes, of which tights will be worn instead.
- Hair must be pulled back tightly in a ponytail using multiple thick hair ties, bobby pins (if needed), and hairspray! This will help lessen possible distraction or discomfort during turns and tricks. *Hair must be in a clean Ballet bun for Ballet.*
- No extra hair accessories including scrunchies or any type of jewelry, can be worn during class.
- Fingernails must stay short for safety purposes.
- Dancers not wearing proper clothing may be asked to view class only.
- All items with prices listed next to them are required to be purchased through Artistic Intensity, any other items can be purchased individually at athletic stores or through our seasonal dancewear book.
